Der Deutsche Schulverein Paris - The School Maintaining Body PDF Print E-mail

As an association in compliance with French law (Loi 1901), the "Schulverein" (School Maintaining Body of the iDSP) has the objective of providing and maintaining a general-education school. As a result, the Executive Board of the association undertakes many responsibilities in consultation with the German Embassy. The “Schulverein” is responsible for the finances of the school, the school and personnel policy, the management and administration, but also for the current legal issues and school matters. In order to become a member of the School Maintaining Body, you simply need to submit a request and pay the contribution (currently 50,-€) fixed annually by the General Meeting, which then eliminates the otherwise yearly payable management fee of currently 60,-€.

The Executive Board of the School Maintaining Body

IThe Council of the School Maintaining Body (“Schulvereinsvorstand” = SVV) guides the school through the current year. It establishes the school budget, approves the providing of financial resources, and therefore participates in almost all key decisions. In addition, the SVV is involved in educational issues and is responsible for the internal and external public relations of the school. The SVV is not free in its action while conducting its business, but must follow the policy of the Central Office for German Schools Abroad (“Zentralstelle für das Auslandsschulwesen” = ZfA) and the guidelines of the “Kultusministerkonferenz”, and implement these in consultation with the Head of the school. The SVV members are elected for 3 years. Each member of the School Maintaining Body can stand for this voluntary activity. You can find more information in the Statute of the “Schulverein”, which is available at the Accueil.
